E komo mai, welcome.
Wakinikona is a Seattle, Washington based Hawaiian cultural club, dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Hawaiian culture.
We gratefully acknowledge the club is based in the traditional lands and waters of the Duwamish, Suquamish, Tulalip, Muckleshoot and other Coast Salish Peoples. We are indebted to the contributions and sacrifices of these communities and we offer our support and solidarity in the collective caretaking of their lands and waters.
We are proud to have founded one of the first hui wa‘a, outrigger canoe clubs, in the Pacific Northwest. Today our hui wa‘a celebrates Hawaiian culture through recreational and competitive paddling. Learn more, including how to try it out, here.
We invite you to explore our website to learn about our history, our dedicated membership, and the wonderful aloha culture we have brought to Washington for more than 60 years from the beautiful islands and ‘ohana of Hawai‘i.
